Welcome to my class website and blog! Here, I will communicate with my students, school families, colleagues, and fellow educators about what's going in in my classroom, techniques I'm using, and how to support your children or students. To follow my professional blog aimed for teachers looking for ideas, go to http://misslaidlaw.blogspot.ca/.
I am an Ontario-educated and -certified teacher. I began my career teaching high school English and English as a Second Language in Kashechewan, Ontario - way up on the coast of James Bay. After, I was hired to be an Elementary Occasional Teacher in Kingston, Ontario. After teaching Grades 1 and 2 for three years, I am moving to SK/1! In the summers, I teach English as a Second Language for Queen's University. I have recently started a Teachers Pay Teachers store. I am trying to create all of the things I wish I could find on TPT, but haven't yet. I hope to create long-lasting products that will help students take ownership of their learning and can be differentiated by parents/teachers easily. This year, I am going with a Reggio Emilia-inspired classroom with more inquiry-learning! I actively use The Daily 5, CAFE, and BUILD Math and I'm excited to incorporate more inquiry into my programming. |
